Slovenian Environmental Public Fund's (Eco Fund) main purpose is to promote development in the field of environmental protection. It is the only specialised institution in Slovenia that provides financial supports for environmental projects.

The financial assistance is offered primarily in the form of soft loans from revolving funds and since 2008 also through grants. In comparison with commercial banks, Eco Fund provides soft loans at more favourable interest rates and is able to lend for significantly longer period.

The Circular Economy Project Management System (XP X30-901, Requirements and Guidelines) is a voluntary standard developed by the French Standardaisation Association (AFNOR) that helps companies grasp the circular economy topic and implement projects that cover its many dimensions. The document proposes a grid or matrix laying out a common understanding of terms, principles and practices that all of the actors agree on.

The Sustainable Energy Portal, managed by Borzen, the Slovenian electricity market operator, is an information centre and contact point on the efficient use of energy and renewable energy sources in Slovenia that can be used by both private individuals (citizens) and companies.

The portal gathers in one place high-quality and easy-to-use professional information that helps users utilize energy in a more sustainable way by increasing efficiency of its use and better knowledge of renewable energy sources.

The Environmental Fund of Slovakia has been set up to implement state support for environmental protection and environmental development on the principles of sustainable development. The Fund's main mission is to provide funding to applicants in the form of subsidies or loans to support projects in the context of activities aimed at achieving national environmental policy objectives at national, regional or local level. BUILD UP Skills is a strategic initiative which started under the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme, and still continues to boost further education and training of craftsmen and other on-site construction workers and systems installers in the building sector.

Its aim is to increase the number of qualified workers across Europe to deliver building renovations which offer high-energy performance as well as new, nearly zero-energy buildings. The initiative addresses skills in relation to energy efficiency and renewable energy systems and measures in buildings.

The RESTART 2016-2020 is the current multiannual development framework of Programmes for Research, Technological Development and Innovation Support in Cyprus. It is co-funded by national and European funds and is implemented in conjunction with other national initiatives and programmes.

The Operational Programme Environment has a budget of some € 5.2 billion (2014-2020) and covers low-carbon transition, climate change and resource efficiency issues.

The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) provides free-of-charge energy consultancy on energy-efficient measures and the use of renewable energy sources within the project Live for Energy.

In light of the EC Circular Economy Package, the European Investment Bank (EIB), as the EU bank, aims to support the transition to a circular economy (CE), in particular in the EU, but also in other parts of the world.

Small and medium-sized enterprises can receive financial support in the form of innovation vouchers for their innovation projects that bring concrete results and have real impact on the market. The scheme comprises a wide range of innovative activities including those that result in energy and/or material savings, and so increased resource efficiency.

The innovation vouchers can amount to a value of € 11 000. The company pays 10 % of the amount to relevant research institute, and receives the rest from the government. The subsidy falls under de minimis regime.
