The Green Growth Commitment (GGC), created in 2014, represents a voluntary pledge by private, public, and civil society stakeholders to move towards a green growth economy in Portugal.

The GGC working groups started their activities in 2016, focusing on sectors or themes considered central for the circular economy, decarbonisation and the country as a whole. The groups cover: industry, cities and regions, mobility, energy and climate, waste, agriculture and forestry, and public procurement.

Rabobank, KPMG and CSR Netherlands are joining forces to stimulate circular action plans in the business sector. This partnership helps entrepreneurs to make the transition from a linear to a circular business model. The partnership has been launched in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Region with plans to extend it to other regions.

Administered by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) and funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, the Seed Capital scheme provides capital for investment funds backing innovative entrepreneurs in the technology and creative sectors. The scheme effectively brings the supply and demand sides together.

The Innovation Deals (IDs) instrument, set up by the European Commission, help innovators facing regulatory obstacles by setting up agreements with stakeholders and public authorities. IDs are a voluntary cooperation between the EU, innovators, and national, regional and local authorities aimed at shortening the time between ideas and market uptake.

The measure has been created to partially compensate for interest charged to industrial enterprises which took loans or leasing agreements to purchase equipment or technology that increases their energy efficiency.

This programme encourages micro-, small-, medium-sized as well as larger enterprises to use renewable energy sources (RES), systems and technologies in their production and operations, and to sell excess heating and energy supplies to district heating networks or other industrial enterprises.

RES covered by the scheme include: wind, solar, aerothermal, geothermal and hydrothermal resources, ocean energy, hydropower, biomass, landfill gas, sewage treatment plant gas, and biogas.

Support is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant.

MATChE is a programme carried out by Technical University of Denmark to help Danish industry increase its competitiveness, growth and job creation by demonstrating how to make an effective transition towards a circular economy (CE), based on current readiness assessment and strategic driver identification.

The Cleaner Production Toolkit, developed by UNIDO, provides a comprehensive methodology for cleaner production and resource-efficiency projects, and relevant training. Successful projects are based on a unique combination of training, interactive exercises, motivation of trainers, extensive experience as consultants, practical implementation of options, and mutual learning.
